The Installation of Roll Up Motor on Greenhouse – Instruction

How to install the greenhouse roll up motor?

· About the roll up bar

It has 3 models of the roll up bars can be used in the orange motor, the tubes are ID 1/2″ (DN15, outside diameters is about φ22), ID 3/4″ (DN20, outside diameters is about φ27) , which are based on the tube coupling of motor. When the OD φ22 tube is selected, it needs to be used with the “transition sleeves(blue plastic in the picture)”. When the φ27 pipe diameter is selected, it does not need sleeves”, just insert it directly into the coupling.

And there is another coupling for 1-3/8″ rail top tube ( φ35), which is common used in USA. It also compatible with OD 1-1/4″ tube, but need to find a hard material to fill the gap.

· Installation

The curtain rolling motors must be supported by a pivoting or straight guide that ensures the motor travels parallel to the path of the curtain. For a curved path, the guide will need to be telescoping since the radius will inevitably vary. See illustration.

All testing of the motors is done with the controller in “manual” mode of your controller.

  1. Initial Motor Setup
    • Once the motors are mounted to their guide bars, but before attaching the motors to the roll-up curtain bar, check the motor’s rotation by pressing the “OPEN” , “CLOSE” buttons.
    • The motors are identical but when mounting 2 of them symmetrically on the greenhouse, they must operate in opposite directions (one clockwise and the other counter-clockwise). You’ll likely need to switch polarity on one or the other so they rotate as above image shown to open the curtains.
    • At this point, make sure the curtain has equal tension and is wrinkle free as possible over its length, then connect it to the roll up bar, keep the bar straight and parallel to the ground.
  2. Setting Motor Limits
    • Each motors have two dials with red or green, “push to turn” knobs that adjust the number of revolutions (0-40) of the output shaft. As the motor runs, the dial counts down to zero, where upon a limit switch stops the rotation.
    • When the motors are mounted symmetrically on the greenhouse with opposite rotation (relative to each other), one motor will have the green dial toward the ground and the other will have its red dial downward. Regardless of color, the knob that’s closest to the ground is adjusted to stop the motor at it’s lowest point of travel when the dial reaches zero. Similarly, the upper knob (regardless of color) will stop the motor at the upper opening limit when it’s dial reaches zero.
    • With the motors in their bottom position, set the lower knob to zero. Even though your electronic controller has the setting to tell the motors where to start and stop, the limit switches on the motors have the “final say” and are there to prevent the motor from “going too far” up or down and damaging something.

· Please operate according to the content of “Recommended Installation Diagram”.

▲1. Good installation can effectively prolong the service life of the product.
▲2. After installation, when the product runs to any position, it is not allowed to upside down the product, means the motor part is under the limit switches box, it’s not allowed.
▲3. After installation, connect the motor cord into the control box, turn on the power, adjust the limit switches with the ideal dial, and then tighten every screws.
▲4. If the electric roll up motor encounters a power outage accident during the film rolling process, and the film tube is urgently needed to be put down, please support the film tube first, and remove the locking bolt between the film tube and the roll up bar. The film roll bar coupling is separated from the film bar, and then slowly lower the roll bar .
