Wiring

  • Wire up the motors and accessories as picture.
  • If wire up inline fuse holders, please cut the spare cables of holder and hide in the box. (Connection: Right terminal of 24V output~ Holder ~ Either one of motor wire, seal them with insulated tape)

Testing

  • “Push and turn” the both dial knobs (red and green) of 2 motors to random numbers.
  • Connect the controller to power, press “OPEN” button of the controller, then press “CLOSE” button, test the motors work in good condition.

* All testing and programming of the motors is done with the controller in “manual” mode of your controller.

·Installation

1.Initial Motor Setup

  • Before attaching the motors to the roll-up curtain bar, position the motors at their lowest (curtain closed) point, 1-2 inches off the ground then connect them to the controller and check the motor’s rotation.
  • The motors are identical but when mounting 2 of them symmetrically on the greenhouse, they must operate in opposite directions (one clockwise and the other counter-clockwise). You’ll likely need to switch polarity on one or the other so they rotate as above image2 shown to open the curtains.(If you have already connected the wires according to image1, simply determine which motor to use on each side.)
  • At this point, make sure the curtain has equal tension and is wrinkle free as possible over its length, then connect it to the roll up bar, keep the bar straight and parallel to the ground.

2.Setting Motor Limits

  • Each motors have two dials with red or green, “push to turn” knobs that adjust the number of revolutions (0-40) of the output shaft. As the motor runs, the dial counts down to zero, where upon a limit switch stops the rotation.
  • When the motors are mounted symmetrically on the greenhouse with opposite rotation (relative to each other), one motor will have the green dial toward the ground and the other will have its red dial downward. Regardless of color, the knob that’s closest to the ground is adjusted to stop the motor at it’s lowest point of travel when the dial reaches zero.
  • Similarly, the upper knob (regardless of color) will stop the motor at the upper opening limit when it’s dial reaches zero. It’s best to stop it a couple inches before the absolute upper limit to lessen the risk of the motor going too far and damaging the plastic greenhouse cover.
  • With the motors in their bottom position, set the lower knob to zero. Even though it’s the electronic controller that tells the motors where to start and stop, the limit switches on the motors have the “final say” and are there to prevent the motor from “going too far” up or down and damaging something.

·Programming the Controller

image4
  • The electronic controller counts seconds (not motor shaft rotations) to “know” where the curtain is, from closed to open. See image4, with the motors in their closed (bottom) position, push the “Close” button on the controller for 5 seconds. This instructs the controller that the motors are at their zero point or bottom of travel.
  • Now, run the motors up by pushing the “Open” button once, then push again the button when the motor hit the limit switch, to stop the upward travel counting of controller. Finally push the “Open” button for 5 seconds to set the elapse time from closed to open.
  • Now that the elapse time has been set, you can test the operation by pushing the “open or close” buttons and the curtain motors should automatically stop where they’ve been instructed to do so.

*Please note, don’t mix up the OPEN/CLOSE button when the lower and upper position, it may cause the motor can’t go downwards at the top, as the controller recognizes the upper position as 0000 position.

When you are satisfied that the controller knows it’s lower and upper positions and the number of seconds between, it’s time to set the open and close temperature limits as well as all the other parameters.

·Configuring Parameters

  • With the controller in manual mode, push the “set” button and the first screen flashes the default open temperature. Use the up/down arrows (open and close buttons) to get to the desired open temperature. That’s the maximum temperature you wish the greenhouse to be.
  • Press the “set” button again to move on to the second parameter: the “close” temperature. Use the up/down arrow buttons to set that temperature.
  • Subsequent pushing “set” will cycle through the remaining parameters and in each case you use the up/down buttons to input the desired value, Note: in each case, if no changes are made after 10 seconds, the controller saves the most recent input and reverts back to “auto” mode.

Once all the parameters are set as you want, activate the “auto” mode, and the controller will adjust the curtain up or down in stages to maintain the greenhouse temperature range you’ve set.

Enjoy it.
